1. Our Commitment
Valence Systems is committed to ensuring that ConcordiumOS is accessible to the widest possible audience, including administrators, teachers, coaches, parents, and students who rely on assistive technologies. Accessibility is part of how we design and build the platform, not an afterthought.
2. Standard We Follow
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the recognized standard for digital accessibility. These guidelines help make content perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for all users.
3. Measures We Take
- Semantic, structured markup and meaningful labels for interactive elements;
- Keyboard operability, including visible focus indicators throughout the product;
- Color choices tested for sufficient contrast, and information that does not rely on color alone;
- Respect for reduced-motion preferences for non-essential animation;
- Responsive layouts that adapt to zoom and to a range of screen sizes and devices;
- Accessibility considered in design review and included in ongoing quality checks.
4. Compatibility
ConcordiumOS is designed to work with current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge) on desktop and mobile, and to be compatible with common assistive technologies such as screen readers and screen magnifiers. We test across Windows, macOS, and Linux.
5. Known Limitations
Despite our efforts, some areas may not yet fully meet our accessibility goals — for example, certain complex data visualizations and third-party integrations. Where limitations exist, we work to provide accessible alternatives and to remediate issues as quickly as we reasonably can.
6. Ongoing Effort
Accessibility is an ongoing commitment. As we add features, we evaluate them against our standard and continue to improve existing experiences based on testing and user feedback.
7. Feedback & Contact
If you encounter an accessibility barrier in ConcordiumOS, or need content in an alternative format, please let us know at accessibility [at] concordiumos.com. Please include the page or feature, the issue you experienced, and the assistive technology you were using so we can respond effectively.
